The Macur Family About Us! BIG NEWS ALYSSA IS HERE! 7/15/2003

We welcome friends and family to read about our family before our precious girl enters into our lives. The baby is tentatively due July 7, 2003 but read about how two people became one.

How We Met:

We first met in the summer of 1994 when Al hired Melissa for her first job at Champs Sports in Fishkill. We quickly became best friends and could rely on each other for anything. As the years went by we were basically inseperable as friends. Then one Sunday afternoon in 1996 we watched Al's favorite Disney movie "The Lion King" together. That was the day we shared our first kiss and the rest is history.

The Engagement:

We were officially engaged on Melissa's birthday in 1997 at The Ballpark at Camden Yards in Baltimore. Al had asked Melissa numerous times before to be his wife, but that was the day he put the ring on her finger. She for the 4th time said YES!

The Wedding:

It was always Al's dream to marry his bride on the campus of St. John's University where he went to school. So after many years of planning God blessed us with a perfect October day in 1999. We came together as one under the sunny 80 degree skies during SJU's Homecoming. We couldn't have asked for anything more. We were the center of attention at St. John's. For Al to shake his nerves he tried to think about his Mets in nearby Flushing trying to win a spot in the World Series. The Mets came out victorious that day beating the Braves, but did not go on to the World Series. During the reception everyone tried to keep up on the Yankees score but that day they fell to the Red Sox. They did however win that years World Series.

The Honeymoon:

We vacationed at Disney World in Orlando, FL and the day before we got there the parks were closed for the first time in history because of a hurricane. Just our luck God blessed us with sunny skies and we have a great time being kids again. We returned 3 years later to celebrate our anniversary and hope to bring our child back one day to the most magical place on earth.

JULY 15, 2003

At 12:10pm Alyssa Summer Macur was born at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. She weighed in at 7lbs and 14 ounces, and measured 21 inches. Mom, Dad and Alyssa are all home now doing very well. Alyssa is now 6 weeks old and changing everyday.
